Does it hurt?

No. It removes hardened, dead skin — the layer with no feeling in it. Use the low speed on the thinner skin near the edges of the heel, and stop if you feel anything sharp or warm. You're taking a layer down, not sanding through it.

How often should I use it?

Most people start with twice in the first week, then once every week or two to maintain. Doing it every day doesn't speed anything up — your skin needs time between sessions.

Will the calluses come back?

If you don't change anything, yes. That's not a flaw in the device — it's how skin works: it thickens in response to pressure, and you'll keep walking. The difference is that maintenance takes two minutes instead of an afternoon, and the gel between sessions slows it down.
